Our treatment involves direct hands-on assessment, play, observation, goal setting, strengthening, as well as guided movement repetition.

At Body Better Kids Physiotherapy our treatments are planned, guided and reassessed according to the needs of each child. Expert goal setting has been proven to improve outcomes of physiotherapy for children facing challenges with their movement skills.

Goals are set which aim to improve :

  • Gross motor function skills
  • Joint ranges of movement
  • Cardiovascular fitness and endurance
  • Comfort
  • Balance, coordination and agility
  • Flexibility
  • Gait and locomotion
  • Muscle strength, power, and endurance
  • Body mechanics and postural stabilization

What “Techniques” do we use?

There are many “Schools” of physiotherapy and approaches such as Bobath, conductive education, mirror therapy, strengthening and biofeedback techniques. We use our understanding of these to inform our practice. We also use Acupuncture and Aquatic therapy.

We always aim to work holistically as part of the wider team supporting the child. With consent, we collaborate with local NHS physiotherapy provision, the GP, Paediatrician and Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Our Physiotherapy treatment clinic in Spillman’s Court is designed specifically with children’s needs in mind. Very young children sometimes prefer to be seen in the home clinic in Hollington, which is also well-equipped. We can see children in their own homes or in school (see locations).
